How to burn DVD for every standard DVD player could play?

I could burn a DVD but only play in the computer using WINDVD player... so my question is how could we burn a dvd for every standard dvd player could play...... I have a dvd burner..... show me what's the software I need to burn... I'm using right now is MYDVD (for me to make the MENU and burn into DVD disk).... thankz.....

There are some dvd players that just won't play DVD-R or DVD+R at all, so it's impossible to make a universally playable disc without pressing it (as in making a commerical disc).

If you're just worried about getting it to work on some specific players that you know can play dvd-r then you just need to author the disc and then experiment with burning to different media to see what you can play. Numerous articles/threads here and at doom9.org.
