  1. I have a question about the new ATI radeon 9700. Does it allow you to capture video in or out(get the TV on your comp or the comp on your tv). I looked at the pic of the card and it just has 1 slot for DVI or something like that.my 7200 has two yellow plugs for vid in and out and that other slot for DVI. Is is possible to get tv in/out w/ just that black plug? if not then can you buy that little purple adapters that has a red, white, yellow and black plug that they use for all in wonders and do it? THanks for your help.

  2. The standard ATI 9700 won't do capturing, it only has TVout. What you want is the ATI AIW9700... Look at these pics:

  3. Does it still have the same graphic capabilities? (e.g is it still just as good for games as the regular 9700?)

  4. The AIW9700Pro and Standard 9700Pro have the exact same gpu and memory clock speeds... so no, there is not a difference between the two cards for gaming.

The only feature you lose from going with the AIW is two monitor output..
the AIW has two ramdacs, but can only output to dvi/monitor+tv, whereas the standard version can do monitor+dvi/monitor, as well as monitor+tv. If I'm not making any sense, then you can look around on the ATI site (I think in the FAQs for the cards), there should be a chart floating around somewhere.

  5. is the AIW alot more expensive? and would it let me capture video with a video cable(yellow) and not that DVI crap because my tv and vcr both have just the yellow, red, and white plugs.

  6. -You can capture video off of a yellow/RCA cable source.
-I couldn't find it on their page, but I remember reading on multiple sites elsewhere that ATI announced an estimated retail of around $499 (USD).
