First thing let me apologize to baldrick if this is in the wrong forum.....I wasn't really sure where to put it. On to the matter at hand......



I have been offering a free rip-pack to do DVD rips with. It's gotten something like 8,000 hits in the last 4 weeks, needless to say I'm exceeding my transfer bandwidth a little. I think my mistake was offering it on download.com as freeware. Well, half a mistake......wouldn't have done it like that except for those nameless pri*ks over at *cough* 321*cough**cough* tring to make people pay for SmartRipper and DVDx. Them and all the OTHER nameless pri*ks who want anyone to pay for bundled freeware along with an internet shortcut to this site.

My question would be:

Does anyone know where I can get my hosting for this donated by a kind soul? That is definetly my first choice. It's not a big file and the new one is smaller....less than 10mb.

or if not that,

Does anyone know of a good host who is fairly inexpensive and allows UNLIMITED transfer bandwidth?

Any suggestions that you have would be great!!! I just got a bill for $320 over 80GB of transfer and the "please donate" on my site has so far grossed $2 and that's before the PayPal fee.

I really want to keep offering this as an alternative to the ones who don't come here having to PAY for what should be FREE.

BTW.....I've gotten a couple of NASTY e-mails from all the nameless pri*ks I mentioned earlier. I got a "pop" pick on download.com and I think they may be losing money.....hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!

First of all, I can't believe that you got 80gig transfers (aka D/L's)
No, I mean, I can't believe it like that, he ,he... must be foowy, anyways...

Why not just call any of your local Internet Providers and as for an E-Mail
account only. find ones that offer 20MB of webspace. This is what I've
done. I pay $5 a month, or $15 for 3 months (doesn't really matter)
But, come one. You can't get nothing for free (know what I mean)

I would try the above. In the long run, its cheaper. I haven't gotten any
calls from my e-mail accountives yet. But, I'm not getting 80GIGs which
I still don't believe, unless you're hosting divX movie files in addition to,
a 10MB file. ie, for a 10MB file, and 80,000,000,000 D/L's, that's 8,000,000
D/L's, ain't it?? Must have my math all screwy, I must. 8)
