Insomnia causing Insomnia

I thougt I was having all sorts of problems the last few weeks splitting a dvd into two disks and have come to the conclusion it is the dvd and not my skills after a few successfull burns the other night. Has anyone ever split insomnia out onto 2 disks (for backup). The files are huge and each disk comes in over 4gig and that is leaving out the extras.

As soon As I load it into Record now I recieve a error stating that the disk may be dirty?? The disk works fine because I tried it with a different movie and watched it last night.

In nero I get a read error.

Anyone have the 411 on this.

I had the same problem, so you are not alone on this Insomnia title. I've been able to burn the first half ot the movie, but the 2nd part just freeze my burner, and i dont know why.
Two coasters to date, stopping with only ,6 meg before end!
Even few tweaks and simulated burning freeze my PC. I suspect the branching or the DVD-ROM content on the DVD.

For now, i have ripped all the files with DVDDecrypter, splitted the original with IfoEdit, burned the first half with VTS 1, 2 and the splitted VTS 3, and it worked fine. But the second one cannot hold VTS 1, 2 and the splitted VTS 3.

If someone has a clue, im also interested.

has the film got an alternate ending or extra scenes option to be included when the film is watched or is it a special edition dvd?

only reason I ask is cause RoboCop directors cut (R2) has this problem and it's becuase you have an option to include the extra footage whilst the movies is playing, so the vobs will not playback correctly. I gave up on this one but I know other people who have got past this using ifo edit
