  1. I am trying to encode a movie with CCE, but I seem to be having problems with the finished result ie: very shakey picture.
    Bitrate Viewer tells me this-

    Num. of picture read: 34188
    Stream type: MPEG-2 MP@ML VBR
    Resolution: 720*576
    Aspect ratio: 4:3 Generic
    Framerate: 25.00
    Nom. bitrate: 9000000 Bit/Sec
    VBV buffer size: 112
    Constrained param. flag: No
    Chroma format: 4:2:0
    DCT precision: 10
    Pic. structure: Frame
    Field topfirst: Yes
    DCT type: Field
    Quantscale: Nonlinear
    Scan type: ZigZag
    Frame type: Interlaced

For Video settings in CCE I have checked- Add Sequence End Code
    Upper Feild First
    Linear Quant Scale
    Zig Zag Scan Order
    DVD Compliant

Is there anything I may have missed or done wrong?

    DCT type: Field

    so don't use in CCE:
    Zig Zag Scan Order

  3. Try unchecking "Upper Field First" and checking "Progressive frames", worked for me.

The rest of your settings seem the same as mine bar things like "Linear Quant Scale" & "Zig Zag Scant Order". I leave them alone since I do not know what they mean.

    cheers, barry.

No! Because DCT type is Field you should not use the "Progressive frames" and "Zig Zag Scan Order"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    read that Doom9's guide...

  5. yes you should not try progressive if its interlaced, and you should know what the terms are if you want a decent encode with CCE

however, he should still use zigzag regardless of the "field", this should make no difference whatsoever and ive done hundreds of dvd-rs with field as zigzag.

The film still has a zigzag scanning order regardless if it says "field"
