Hello, i am trying to convert a file to VCD with TMPGenc, i used the tutorial on the site and it seems like it's working. I am just wondering if it's actually suppose to take all the time it is taking!! i mean the movies is kinda playing, so is it suppose to be 20 minutes converting if the movie is 20 minutes? or is there a way to change setting so it uncodes faster?
i would like to know how long does it take for u guys/girls?
Just to let u know, i have a pentium IV 1.5 Ghz and 256Mb memory and my pagefile is 400 mb. i am not running too many programs.
Thanks
P.S: i did set the priority to high..

I'll let you know in about 4 hours!!!!!. I'm just doing my first one now.
I think it's gonna take a while........... -
It will take 'awhile' but it all depends on speed of your PC, encode settings, etc. For me to encode on my 1.7GHz P-4 to MPEG1 at the lowest quality/fastest for VCD, it takes about 2x the actual run time, so 4 hours for a 2 hour movie. When I encode to MPEG2 at the highest quality, 704x480, 2 hours of video takes about 56 processing hours!
