  5. Is this version in Japanese? I just received my CD update from Cinemacraft and it was 2.66.01.01. Why don't they make these updates available on English sites?

hey i use CCE 2.5 for my SVCD encodes, i go at an average speed of:
    0.8 when encoding and avi
0.3 when encoding a frameserve from virtualdub
    i have a P-3 @ 1000MHz, 394 mb Ram
do you think that by using CCE 2.66 i could get faster speeds?

  8. i use 2.64 and get speed on average of 2.2 on a 1.2ghz celery

that is no filters mind you. speed drops dramaticly more editing i do. i just got through encoding a standard vcd 1hour 30min movie in about 45 minutes no filters.

  10. I currently run a P3 550 with a GB of RAM and 200 GB of HD space. Encoding an MPEG2 DVD movie of around 100 mins with 3 pass VBR takes me around 15 hours.

I am waiting for my Athlon 2000XP replacement... should be quicker then.

Does CCE handle MPEG2 encoder cards? or is there something else on the market that can? I can get my hands on a VERY good MPEG2 encoder card just gotta find some software that will support it!

mpeg2 encoder cards have hardware encoding and dont use a software encoder like CCE - hence they would not be hardware encoding ..

they use a GUI front end for control is all.

all hardware encoders come with the nessessary software unless you stole it ...

a really good hardware encoder ranges in price from about 3500$ - 15,000$ for normal encoding .. there are some that are lot more ..

  12. christ! Thanks for the reply. The card I have is allegedly a good Reelmagic one (At least it used to be - it's a couple of years old but this technology doesn't really go out of date!) Cost a couple of grand if I remember correctly. Got it for doing setting up a network for someone.I've lost the software. I'll have a trawl around the net for a copy.

    Thanks again

  15. Great. As I say, it was around 6-7 years ago. I remember running it on my 386 at the time and it was doing real-time encoding. It was a pricey piece of kit although I never had a use for it at the time... I will dust it off - it's in my attic space at the moment and have a go.
