  1. I have tried to use Tmpg to convert my wav files to VCD Mpeg's, but i would really like to try something else.

I havent had much sucess in finding programs to do this. I tried a little command program called wav2mpg, but with little sucess.

Anyone know of a gui based program that does this?

    Thanks

  2. Why don't you just convert them to CD (audio) instead of VCD (video). To accomplish this you could use many mp3/audio/cd player programs. I use MusicMatch Jukebox, and it works great.

  3. I need to multiplex the converted wav with vcd video - thus getting around the issue of bad sync.

So i really need to convert the wav to mpeg 44100hz

    Hi

There are many DVD players that play MP3 files, however mine don't. So I thought it would be a good idea to convert the MP3 files into Mpeg files, then add them all as separate entries in the VCD menu.

Then I could play the music on my DVD player, and it will hold a lot more than a normal music CD.

So tonight I gathered some tools to try and do this, so far the only thing I have got working is the "Ulead MediaStudio Pro 6.0." It can add the Mpeg to a still image. Thus I get a still picture for each song.

So far I have played about only a few hours, the results are not so good with the mpeg files being much larger

So maybe Media Studio might help you ?

  5. Use tooLame, you can find a link to d/load it from either dvd2svcd.doom9.net or http://www.flexion.org/vcd. tooLame is a dos based commandline program but fairly easy to use. There are directions at:

    http://www.flexion.org/video/DVDConv/DVD2AVI/index.html

if you scroll down thou. tooLame will encode to a MP2 file, it does it much faster than TMPGenc. If you can't figure out the command line, than you can still use tooLame to encode, run TMPGenc and choose tooLame as the 'external encoder' (think I remember that setting name )

Will this make "VCD Mpeg's" at the corect spec ?

Im back, just made a Mpeg file out of a wav using Toolame, loaded it into VCDcreator and there 10 items listed that must be correct for a VCD (PAL) none of them match this file's spec.

Intresting name, I use "Lame" (Not Toolame) in goldwave for audio.

to be honest, what's wrong with the encoder in tmpgenc? ok, its not fast, but it does the job.
