I have an avi file that wants to grow in size 500% and has no video.
When i encode it in TMPGE there is no pic while it encodes. I did another file from the same(server and series) source - no prob. It displayed the video as it encoded. When I open up a properities window for both the only diff is the offending file has a diff frame rate and has added lines of information.
8) good file = frame rate 29.970 f/s
data rate 115.854 Kb/sec
no other entries in prop. info box
bad file = frame rate 23.976 f/s
data rate 97.857 Kb/sec
video sample 24 bit
video compression DIVXMPG4 V3
I'm real hot to trot to get this group of files onto a vcd. Any of you wonderful people have any ideas I'll be forever grateful.

If you get an error message when opening the video or audio like file unsupported
or you get an empty(black) video preview window
or the video look wierd in the video preview window like green or purple or pink
Be sure that you have installed the DivX Codecs (both DivX 3.11, 4 and 5) and also try with the Nimo Codec Pack. If that does not work try to change the codec reader settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video.Hello. -
hi,
i found that the direct show priority was v. important to my encoding.
i gave it a 2 priority and so far it has worked great.#
