I am running Win98 SE so I have the 4GB limitation on File Size. The version of Vdub I have is 4.1.10. My object is to capture a multi-segmented avi file and then stitch it together using avisynth and just use the script to feed the avi's into TMPGEnc. All works well once the capture is done, but VirtualDub isn't segmenting my avi files and then I get some weird error message when the file exceeds the 4GB limit and of course the capture stops. The filename of the first "Segment" it captures is "CAPTURE.00.AVI" so I know it thinks its supposed to segment...There's a check mark next to the "Multisegmented Capture File" option in the Capture menu so obviously I'm missing something else.
FWIW, if people are interested I can post a guide on how to stitch the files together using avisynth; using this method I can feed more than 4GB worth of data to TMPGEnc without frameserving from Vdub.
