  1. Hello, I'm having a problem burning a japanese anime. Whenever I wanna burn a DVD i have to play movie first, then I can start copying the DVD ie through smart ripper, or Clad. Since I'm trying to copy a foreign film, I can't initially play it on my comp, so I can't copy it. Is there any way around this? Or is there a program that will change the country code on my comp with out my comp noticing the change? I've already changed the country code on my comp enough times where i can't change it any more. And DVD Genie isnt working for me. Please respond if you have any ideas. Thank you.

It could be that your DVD-ROM drive is "hard wired" for your region,as mine was. My Creative drive required me to flash the firmware with a modded version to remove region restrictions.

use Dvd decrypter, it can rip mismatched regions.

It'll use Brute Force and DeCSS instead of I/O Key and VobDec.

  5. See this website in order to see if they have a region free firmware for your DVD-ROM player. You must also download a freeware program called DVD Region Killer (a better program than DVD Genie under Windows XP). Thiese steps should allow you to play DVDs from any Region.

Be sure to know exactly what you are doing before proceeding as changing firmware can destroy your DVD-ROM player, if it is not done properly.
