  1. Hi, I've spent a lot of time reading and following the guides but still have a couple of questions regarding multiple titles with IfoEdit. I already know how to use IfoEdit to strip streams, VobIds, and rip just 1 title containing the whole movie.

The problem is some of my foreign DVDs have 2 episodes, each in a separate titles, for examples:
    Title 1: vts_01_x.vob (multiple VOBs)
    Title 2: vts_02_x.vob (multiple VOBs)

I want to burn both titles on 1 DVD-R (they fit on one 4.7 DVD-R), but couldn't figure out how to make it work. At first, I tried to copy the original .BUP & .IFO files (including all the VIDEO_TS.*), and use IfoEdit to "Get VTS sectors" to correct the pointers. But when I tried to play in IfoEdit, I got the following "DVD Warning: An illegal navigation command was encounter". It would not start playing, but if I select the specific Title 1 or 2, it will play both of them correctly.

When I use the "Create new IFO files (Movie only)" option, the resulting VTS_01_* will play in IfoEdit, but only 1 title. So I have several questions:

    1. How do you use IfoEdit to rip multiple titles and fix the IFO so that when they can be played correctly when I burn to DVD-R?

    2. If I ripped it as 1 title at first, can I add another title (with associated vts_xx* files) to the original Video_ts?

    3. Is there a way to merge multiple titles in to 1 title AND create the correct IFO for both (using IfoEdit)?

    4. Can the final VOB file be larger than 1 GB, and if not how do I split it into multiple VOB?

    Thank you very much.

Yes you can put multiple titles on DVd-R with IFoedit. I'm doing it with Startrek-TNG episodes. I'm putting two episodes per disk. Yes you can make and burn files larger than 1GB. I rip the THG episodes as one large file, they come out at 2GB. Name the first one vts_01_1.vob and the second one vts_01_2.vob. Put them in the same directory and use Ifoedit to create ifo file foe both. Name the directory VIDEO_TS and you can bunr it with Nero. There's no menu of course but both episodes will play in succession and since you have preserved the chapters you can advance thru them.

  4. Thanks for your help. I was hoping to find a way to retain the menu for the titles that I want but cut out the menus for other unwanted titles.

Is re any other program that can author DVD using existing .VOB & .IFO files? I don't want to create all the menu from scratch.

I use SpruceUp to author DVD-R. I don't believe there are any programs that allow you to import a vob file. Spruce is very easy to use, alows creation of simple menus to select episodes. Provides a first play option. it's compile mode creates the ifo files.

  6. Hi,
    Try this solution:
    http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/derrow/splitprob1.html

Although this solution is for a problem encountered when splitting a movie into 2 DVDRs, the error message that you described is similar,if not the same, as the error message described here.

    Good Luck. Hope it works!
