  1. I'm new at this but I was trying to burn a movie to cd but when i download the movie it's a avi file... it takes me about 4 hr to burn one movie in nero!!! it takes like 2 hr to encode the file(JUST THE 1st HALF) whatever that means.. Is there something i can do to make this process faster...................................... HELP

  2. It means that your file isn't VCD compliant (it isn't Mpeg1/2) and Nero is encoding it to correct format (see WHAT IS VCD section - it is in the upper left corner of this page).

    Nero is not the best tool for encoding to (S)VCD as it's primary purpose is burning. Try dedicated encoders like TMPGEnc (you will find it in the site's Tools section on your left). The speed of encode will depend on your processor speed and RAM, the higher specs the faster encode. Then use Nero to burn your Mpeg1/2 file as (S)VCD and it will take less than 30 minutes (depending on the speed you burn it at).
