  1. k, its one of those days i'm nearly going mental. i try to frameserve from VD to CCE. it used to work like a charm under winxp but now, after i've used tmpgenc for a while, it doesnt at all. i tried CCE 2.50 and all 2.6x i have. it used to work on 2.50 now it says, "AVIFileOpen.....unknown error". so i thoought i try this link2 stuff, but that just says "unable to open file. are you forcing your AVI to unsupported format".
i do have the avihandler installed from the VD directory, i checked the 2 files are in the \system directory. i guess the reg entries are made correctly as well.
using winxp sp1. intel p4....and as said, tried all CCE versions.
what am i doing wrong? what should i do?

btw, if anyone knows another way to frameserv to CCE that doesnt involve me having to do scripting all the time, pls shout.

Ok their are a few items...

    1) Only CCE 2.5 and CCR 2.66.xx can open frameserved files

    2) VDub 1.4.10 has a frameserving bug you need a particualr file in your system directory msvcr70?? i think it's the .net runtime.

    3) Have you installed the handler using auxsetup?

XP .NET Cure for missing msvcr70.dll and mscoree.dll

Many users who install the current build of the Microsoft.Net SDK complain that the C# compiler does not work and C# executables will not run. Error messages note that msvcr70.dll and mscoree.dll, respectively, are missing from their system directories.

Here is the cure. Uninstall the samples and the sdk. Then restart the computer in safe mode. These are several ways to do this. The old way still works: hold down the F8 key during startup until the computer starts beeping. You will be presented with a list, select 3 - Safe Mode. If instead you see the desktop, you waited too long, try again.

Browse to the big Setup.exe file that contains the sdk. Reinstall the Microsoft.Net SDK.

The files msvcr70.dll and mscoree.dll are now in your system folder.

Restart the computer in Normal mode. The csc.exe compiler will work, and c# exe's will run.

1.4.10 was built with the .net installed and it linked ( by accident ) to the runtime. It is completly unessary for the opertion of vdub 1.4.10, but it has to be there or it will complain.

Avery plans on fixing it in the next binary release.

maybe thats what happened to Matrox .. we have to install NET runtime first before we can install Matrox powerdesk and drivers for the Parhelia .. which makes not a lot of sense and i didnt really want to ..
