Hello All,
I hope someone can help me w/ a problem. I ripped the movie Showtime and I can not seem to open it with Tmpgenc 2.58. When trying to open it , it gives me an not supported box. I tried another movie ripp and it works just fine.
I reset my enviroment setting in VFAPI plug ins according to this link - http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/userguides/119019.php , but still no luck. It still gives me the unsupported box. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? If so, please let me know.
Thanks

How about this step:
If you get an error message when opening the video or audio like file unsupported
or you get an empty(black) video preview window
or the video look wierd in the video preview window like green or purple or pink
Be sure that you have installed the DivX Codecs (both DivX 3.11, 4 and 5) and also try with the Nimo Codec Pack. If that does not work try to change the codec reader settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video.
It seems to me they want you to load the Nimo Codecs first.Hello. -
Provided the Xvid codec is installed on your system, I would venture that the culprit is your Audio in Ac3.
TMPGEnc does not handle AC3 audio. Actually TMPGEnc only handles MP3 CBR audio and WAV uncompressed audio. The rest is a shot in the dark at best.
Load up this little utility called GSPot 2.0 which you can find at http://www.headbands.com/gspot/
It will identify the audio codec in your file and should give you a better idea. -
Thanks, the codec fix seemed to work. I am now able to open the .d2v file. Now, I have a new problem...
I use to be able to use Mp3 audio files with TMPgenc which I still can , but the movie's audio come out choppy and studders. I tried it on a couple of movies and I get the same results. So, I converted the Mp3 audio to Wav and the problem is fix, but it is another step in the overall process. Which I don't like. My question is why has it changed?
Has the TMPgenc 2.54 version done something to the audio which causes this problem?
Thanks for the quick response...!
