Sony DRU500A and Nero Problem

Just installed my spanking new DVD Burner (Sony DRU500A) and I was able to burn my first DVD+R which worked fine on my DVD stand alone player. So this tells me the drive is installed correctly. Then I went to use Nero to try to burn a CD-R disk and all Nero wanted to do was write an image file to the hard disk. Finally I found a choice under tools to 'Detect Recording Devices' or something similar to this, and it just couldn't find the DRU500A. It displays the unit properly text wise (i.e. f drive = Sony DRU500A) but when I go to verify it, it fails and says something to the effect "The parameters selected for this unit don't match please go back and change then try to re-verify". Well when I go back I can't change anything, theres only one option for every pick? Any ideas or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nero 5.5.9.14 isn't supposed to work with the new Sony. There's supposedly a leaked 5.5.9.16 that will, but I can't find it. Anyone?
