  1. i have an ati aiw8500dv and i'm having problems getting it to work with virtualdub. i read the guide on this site saying to install from wrapper.zip, i did, but the target file on my system was newer than the source and it also said download mmc7.5 but i already have 7.5.19. previoulsy (with my old card) i'd just select the desired channel in my tv program and then open virtualdub and select capture avi and my source would be there. not so anymore. any ideas as to why this is and how to fix it?

It would really help if you posted some details on your present system config such as your OS for example. Not much anyone can do to help unless unless we know what you've got to work with. Another thing the latest version of the MMC is as of this date MMC 7.7.0.1. which fixed a lot of of issues with MMC 7.5 Make sure you download the latest display and capture drivers in addition to MMC otherwise it won't work.
    Warning! I'm baaaaaaaaack

What card did you have before?

I have AIW 8500DV and use Vdub to capture, But I never started TV app
then opened Vdub. You need to set up Vdub correctly.

    Open Vdub click file>capture avi.
    Then Click video>source.
Now you can select composit, S-Video or TV Tuner.
Click on TV Tuner to desired channel.
May the force be with you.

  4. i have xp. according to the guide here, mmc7.5 is okay, but where do i get the new one?

and tbear, the card i had before has nothing to do with it and i have to open my tv app first to select the channel i want to capture or vdub just won't work, you dipshit.

if i had a card before which i used succesfully with vdub it's pretty obvious i do know how to do the basic configuration.

Open Vdub click file>capture avi. <<-- oh, well now it all makes sense to me. i never thought that to capture avi i should actually click the 'capture avi' button.
