  3. Also fireburner will do that, do an "openwith" on the bin file, and select fireburner, you will get a warning, but I have never had any problems with the burn`t cd.

  4. I say no!!!! (I'm assuming that these are images of S/VCDs) 8)

There is a lot of important information in the CUE file that is not in the BIN file (which is why you need both).

As VCDs are basically mixed mode discs and multitracked, you can run into all sorts of problems if you just "burn the bin" without the corresponding CUE file (if you search the forum for back in the days when Nero didn't understand the CUE/BIN format and just burnt the "BIN", you will see what I mean).

If the disc is just a simple multitrack disc, it will probably be "okay", but there is a good chance you will have problems with PBC content on the disc (e.g., menus, chapters, etc.)

IMHO, you should repair the CUE/BIN image before you burn it, and then burn it with a proggy that understands the CUE/BIN format. That is, CDRDAO / VCDEasy, CDRWin, BlindWrite, the newer versions of Nero if you have to, Fireburner if you must.

There are two methods to repair the CUE/BIN file:
    1. adam posted a method using CDMage. I don't quite remember it, but it involves load the BIN file and saving it to a new CUE/BIN image. Search for adam's name and "regenerate CUE/BIN" or something like that and you should find his post.
    2. Regenerate your CUE/BIN with VCDImager. Extract everything from the BIN file including the XML descripter with VCDXRIP and then immediate rebuild a new CUE/BIN image with VCDXBUILD.

You can use either VCDEasy or VCDImager Tools GUI ( http://www.vcdimager.org/guides/vcdimager_tools_gui.html ) as a GUI to these tools if you don't like using command console proggies.

  6. I could be wrong(have not used it for quite time and do not remember .bin functionality) but try using "isobuster", you can extract the content, and make a new image

If you do this, you will lose any PBC authored content including menus and chapters.

@ bigred: not recommended if you are making a VCD that has PBC authored content. I don't know about DiscJuggler (as I don't use it), but it doesn't work properly with most other CUE/BIN image burners.
