Huffy AVI Capture and Ulead video studio

Any know why I cannot use ulead video studio to edit a Huffy captured AVI, captured in Virtualdub?

The Only AVI I can edit/ cutt and paste is the uncompressed AVI.
when using ulead video studio.

It seems that after 3 minutes encoding the Huffy avi, the Video just freezes, and will not recognize the rest of the video.

Any help would be good.

I called Ulead, and they said they do not support the Huffy codec. Does anyone know of a good mpg2 encoder that is similar to Ulead video studio?? I want to add titles, and "wipes" to the video, then Burn to DVD.
Any suggestions?
