  1. Hi All - I've recently started using my all-in-wonder radeon 7200 for recording movies to VCR (for my Dad), first thing that's a pain in the neck is the resolution problem,I use 1024x768 but this changes to 800x600 on part of the screen with black borders when I enable TV. It also makes the PC unusable because you can't see anything but your movie, there may be a way around this like using two monitors but you wouldn't want to be slowing down the media player by using the processor too much because this would show in the recording.
I know I can record from my standalone to the VCR but this would involve changing discs(I already have the movie all in one piece by using Ulead Video Studio).
One thing that is a problem is the two little flashing lights at the bottom of the screen moving from side to side on Video playback, I'm sure I've seen a fix for this somewhere but can't remember where.
Does anyone have any advice on this subject? I have heard of cards which are called scan something or other and I think you can use the monitor as normal with these with some kind of throughput but once again you wouldn't want to be slowing things down because it would affect the recording.
Anyone got any stories about this type of thing?

When my ati card was called upon to output to a tv monitor it chose 800x600 down from 1024 and messed up the display big time!
After I went into controll panel and display and changed the overall display size to 640 it was fixed. Display remained messed up but output was corrected to fit on the screen (tape).
