  1. sorry if this has been asked before have looked at search.

    what do i need to capture vhs to dvd

    ive got

    1 vhs player

    2 dvd recorder (pioneer 104)internal

    2 radeon graphics card

    ??? what type of capture card (to get vhs on to hard drive)

    and software required

    dont have mutch £££££ left after buying video card and dvd recorder

    If your VCR has firewire or S-video out, try to get a capture card with one of them. If you cannot, composite or RCA connectors will suffice. Then you you only need the software to capture.

    Virtual Dub is freeware and TMPGEnc will do for now. if you still have $18.00, register MJPEG codec. TMPGEnc will allow you to process MPEG-2 for a time for free, but you may want to pay $48.00 to register TMPGEnc Plus.

    This should get you started.
