Can Anyone Help or experiencing the same problems as I am.I am Using AVI_I0 Trial version to capture stuff off VHS and find AVI_I0 very good when I can get it to work.Alot of the time it is lossless and hadly ever do you loos any frames when capturing, you can also pause the capture and restart it but the pc seems to blue screen alot and always with the same area code(cant remember it off-hand) but always starts 0028 I think and says error in vxd but when I reset the pc and run Norton Win Doctor it always reports no problems .It can be quite temperamental and work for hours and hours one day but the next day it will blue screen 3 times in a row and then maybe start working. It's very irratingand wastes alot of time recapturing things.I Tried it tonight and after 55mins the pc just froze and I had to start again.I may think about purchasing the full version but not if it keeps on crashing all the time.
So I have gone back to using VirtualDub again for capturing(using excatly all the same settings and codec but it always loses frames(sometimes it can be 1 in 10,000 but earlier it had just lost 10 in 50 mins and when I looked 5 mins later it had lost 186 frames and stablised again where as it I had been using AVI_I0 I know it would have captured it all with no frame loss.VirtualDub works for Hours and Hours without Problems but loses Frames and AVI_I0 is lossless but crashes all the time.

Anyone else experienced anything like this my settings are below.

Win98SE using Hauppagge Latest Drivers for WinTV Go(VFW)
Hard Drives are 7200 ata100 Defragged
AMD 1700xp Proc and 256MB DDR 2100 Memory ECSK7S5A M/B
352 * 576 Using Pic Video Mjpeg Codec at Quality 18 and Audio set to 44,100 Khz 172kb/s and frame rate set to 25 frames per sec but need to adjust occassionaly in Virtualdub to lower rate to avoid frame loss.I did the whole series of V from VHS at 24 frames per second(25 had frame loss,24 was fine).

Cheers
