    Prob'ly missing codecs.
Try installing Nimos codec pack (link under TOOLS).
Clean your box from spy/adware after install.

  3. Open TMPGEnc, go to Option->Environmental Setting...->VFAPI plug-in, select DirectShow Multimedia File Reader, right click and choose Higher priority as many times as it needs to get value 4.

Now you should be able to load any avi file unless it is corrupted or an XviD AVI.

    Regards.

The DirectShow Multimedia File Reader filter can be tricky.

Sometimes the opposite is true. If a high priority doesn't work then try unchecking the directshow filter. So another avi reader will be used.

It depends on which codec was used to compress the avi ...vfw versus directshow.
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.

    Just install them.
If the problem was a missing codec it should be sorted now.
