This is the first time i've done this, but I created a title set and ended up with a Video and audio folder like I was supposed to.
I want to use toast to now create my dvd. However, I chose DVD and all I got was data burned to the dvd, not an actual readable playable dvd.
Can someone tell me the exact options to select in order to burn this correctly?
Thanks!

What did you use the author the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders? You need to make those folders using a proper DVD authoring program like DVD Studio Pro or a ripper program like DVDBackup. There are alot of .ifo and .bup files in addition to the video files that go on a DVD. A authoring program creates these files for you. Assuming you authored it correctly, did you put the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders at the root of the DVD and select "DVD" from the other menu in Toast?

I used Spruceup on a PC machine to make the titleset and then moved the files over to a mac. I assume I didnt set the settings correctly in toast and only burned a data dvd. what are the exact steps to make this a movie dvd?

Could you list the files that ended up in the folder as a result? Its the contents of the folder that make it readable or not. In Toast, a DVD is a DVD. I don't know anything about Spruceup. What was the output?

When spruceup made the title set, it created an Audio_VS folder and a Video_VS folder (where all the files were located).
I think in toast (my friend is doing this for me) he burned it like a data dvd and not as a video-dvd. Just a guess. I was just trying to pin down the exact settings that I could relay to him. -
It should be VIDEO_TS, not Video_VS.
In Toast you have to first hit the New DVD button and name the DVD, and then drag the directory over.
If you drag a VIDEO_TS folder to Toast, you'll get a disc named VIDEO_TS and a bunch of data files, not a DVD. Is this what he did? Did he actually set it up in Toast as a DVD?
If you do have a proper VIDEO_TS folder on your disc, what's in it? Can you play the files normally with a software DVD player? -
before you have any DVD made in toast work as a video in a DVD player (providing your AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS were generated properly) you MUST use the "make dvd" button first, and title the disc and THEN drop in the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder, if you just drop in the folders without making a new DVD first it wont work.
