  1. Some of the more obscure tools (OSEx, yade, mpeg2enc) are very hard to find, could someone mirror the files? and how long before the dev community gets a tmpeg for mac? ffmpegx looks great, and i want to try it. anyone have a tutorial?

  3. Thanks,
Is there a reason why OSEx quits after a bit? I get 'unexpectantly quit'. I like it the best because I can see all the streams. Is there something I should install, an addtional component I don't know about? And for some reason, yade and yade carbon won't even come up. I can load the programs, but there is no GUI, and when I try to open a file, nothing happens. I finally got a .vob with DVD Extractor 0.9b, but now I can't demux, bbDemux is giving me problems, and MMT won't work either. I'm thinking there are some underlying darwin/unix problems I don' know about. Please help.

    P.S. Squeeds..I am registerd on your site...and I think I have a post. I just lost it

    thanks

yade carbon currently is basically a worthless program, it doesnt decss the video or remove macrovision. Since you dont have the option to turn the preview window off you will frequently have your program crashing before you even do anything, and when you try to do something it will probably crash too. Thats why any video it does show when it stays open long enough is all green and garbled. Yade for os 9 works great (WONT work in classic) i'm not sure why it wouldn't work for you. OSEx is still in early beta, it'd doesnt deal well w/ DVDs being scatched or dirty in the slightest, if it htis ANY niche in the DVD that it has a problem with it will either freeze or quit. MMT wont work to demux your files because MMT doesnt demux, it only multiplexes. try extractor: http://denisx.dyndns.org/extractor/

    OR rip to elementary streams.

  5. thanks bilestyle. it's hard to seperate the experimental programs from the time tested ones. i'm using a netflix dvd, so it's a bit scratched. i'm running 10.2. aren't there any programs that are solid? i've been trying to use ffmpegx, but i've run into problems putting mpeg2enc in my usr/bin with the terminal. on the plus side, through my fiddling, i know some basic unix commands. And i'm tired of trying to sync in QT Mutator. I couldn't even sync 'swingers'. i'm not going to give up, i think i'm going to try and master vcd before i try svcd. i'll try extractor. thanks again.

It took me a while to get use to QT Mutator, but once I got it down it always worked perfectly for me. It is a great program and I believe worth learning. Although others will fight me on that.

Actually I already did. It isn't anything big, but at the time tons of people were requesting tutorials of how to use it.

Soon I will be updating my website and my tutorials. I just moved and it seems that I will have more free time on my hands and I'll finally be able to update....it only took 5 months..

the reason you are having trouble with QT mutator (and its so odd that so many knowledgeable people don't see the problem it represents) is that the video and audio can go out of sync several times in one chapter (or even one vobunit) alone, making it virtually impossible (if not totally impossible) to sync w/ qt mutator. Same goes w/ ffmpegx, just undoing the 3:2 pulldown OR setting the 3:2 pulldown is not nearly enough to sync, or adding the audio scaled, or setting a different time offset while mutliplexing (would only work if the video/audio lose sync at a consistent rate) or any of those workarounds don't work on many dvds (ESPECIALLY animated material- total nightmare generally) i have some tutorials on my website that may be able to help you-

if you need any helps w/ any of them let me know.
