  1. i have authored 3 dvd movies..

now i find that i could fit them all onto one dvd..

i need to make a menu etc for the three films, but how do i get the three seperate films authored again ?

the format they are in at present is video_ts, vob_01.vob etc but all three films are the same format if you know what i mean..

all the filenames are the same etc..

is there a way to rename two films and re menu and re author ??

  2. Maybe this will help:

NOTE: It would be appreciated if, in the future, you want further help that you at least take a quick look at waht this great site has to offer. Both these guides were listed on the front page!

    Note !!

Try reading what i posted instead of jumoing on me..
i already looked at all the guides. I've been reading this site and the forums for about a year now, but couldnt remember my original name and password, or e-mail address that i signed up with, due to problems with my memory caused by a major heart op..

None of those you linked me to explain anything other than how to make up a dvd , or a dvd from different vobd into ONE film..

I have three films that i want to add to one dvd, but my films are already ripped and converted to vobs.. i didnt think they woul dhave turned out so small, hence my post how to get the three seperate filem (already in vob and video_ts format on to one dvd

Sorry if you think I jumped on you, if as you say you have been round here for a while you will be well aware of just how many noobs don't bother to look at the site and just jump in with very basic questions that could have been answered with just the most basic research. As for your original post, you never mentioned having read any guides, so perhaps you can understand why I may have jumped to the (wrong?) conclusion.

As for your original question, the only thing I can think of is to demultiplex the vobs into elemental audio and video streams as described here:

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/faq#demultiplex

then re-author. This will avoid the need to re-encode but you may need to re-multiplex and join the resulting mpegs from this process so that you have one large mpeg for each movie.

If you wanted to somehow keep the original menu's etc and simply add a new menu to select each of the movies I don't know if thats possible.

P.S. If you had looked closley at the links I originally posted, those guides may not have actually answerd your questions but they do also link to lots of other guides that probably do.

  5. thanks never thought about remultiplexing them, just didnt want to go down the re-encoding route..

yep your probably right maybe there would have been a link that would have helped. My main problem is concentration and remembering things now after a major heart op. Been told by the docs that i probably have 3-7 years left to live so with that combined with the memory and concentration probs, i didnt want to waste too much time loooking around every guide, lets be honest theres loads of them

Very True, but if you have been into digital video for a while now as you say you should have realised that all the info you need is out there, its just finding it thats the problem!

Anyway, all the best and let us know how you get on.
