I downloaded four 30 minute clips and ran the first three through TMPGEnc to convert to mpeg for transfering to vcd (Ulead Movie Factory). The fourth one has sound out of synch yet the avi I converted it from is fine.
What could be causing this and is there a remedy?
    Thanks,
    Will

  2. 1) Have you scaned for Bad Frames (in VDUB)?
    2) What format is it in? cuz when it's MPEG-2(=svcd) it is possible there are audio probs on your comp, but it plays just fine on your dvd player

    Hello,
    Thanks for the post.
I was just about to add I convert them using the vcd(pal) template in TMPGEnc (mpeg2?) and snip a little off the end.
I check them before I burn them with Ulead and sure enough they are out of synch so it isn't Ulead (I've just been reading another post about this and the question about Ulead).
I also tried TMPGEnc *without* clipping and the results were the same.
I only noticed the sound probs on my stadalone and then checked on my PC, results were the same.
I idn't expect the quality to be as bad as it was when converting from DivX to VCD but then again the output quality is only going to be as good as the source right?
When you say 'bad frames' are you thinking the original DivX is corrupt or the mpeg I created?
Will take a look at the link,
    Thanks again,
    Will
