    Hi,
I am transferring footage of my kids football game from my Sony TVR-130 Digital8 camcorder, through a firewire card, into Premiere 6. What I want to do, is edit the footage, save highlights to a file, and transfer back to VHS, and/or VCD. Problem is, after saving the file, 640x480, MPEG 4, (v1) and as DivX (same resolution) when I view it, the quality stinks. It is pixelated, and fuzzy. File size is huge, almost 4 gigs for 18 minutes, and
I am extremely confused. When played over the TV from my camcorder, picture quality is fine. Even on a 36" Wega.

I am a newbie (as if you couldnt tell), so be genlte

    Thanks in Advance,
    Todd

PS: Locker Room footage turns out much better, little or no motion in there I think has something to do with it. Not sure though. Also, I read people talking about long rendering times. Mine is ready to view as soon as I get done playing it and capturing. I am probably missing something here too.

    TIA

  2. I am having the exact same problems as you and I also use a Sony TVR-130e digital 8. I use Ulead videostudio 6.0 and I am fed up with tinkering with the capture and render settings. Anything with the slightest motion ends up boxy and pixelated on playback. I know it is not down to the svcd writing software as playback before transferring to C.D is already very poor.I will be watching this space for any suggestions. I do not want t give in as I have invested a lot of money in this only to get very unacceptable results.
