  1. I have continually tried installing Avisynth on 2 different computers with no luck, it just won't work. I am running a dual PIII under Windows 2000. I want to use CCE 2.5 to encode my DVD rips but I just get an error and CCE crashes when I try to open the .avs file. I tried creating a script with version in it and opened it with windows media player 7.01 and I get "Invalid or corrupt data was encountered". I copied avisynth.dll to the winnt/system32 folder and ran the INSTALL.REG. I did this on my dual CPU computer and an Athlon PC both under windows 2000 with the same results. I also tried installing DVD2SVCD because I know it automatically installs avisynth and still no luck.
Here is the script I used to just test CCE with my movie.

    LoadPlugin("F:\Program files\DVD2SVCD\Mpeg2dec.dll")
    mpeg2source("F:\we_were_soldiers\we_were_solders.d 2v")

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get avisynth to work? I also tried using VFAPIconv and it created 10 sec of nothing. Thanks.

  2. 1. Can WM Player or VirtualDub open Version() script? Which version of Avisynth is it? If not, install newest Avisynth, 2.06.

    2. If VirtualDub can open your script, then the problem is with CCE, which is known for its unpredictable behavior. Can you load a real AVI file into CCE? If not, I am truly stumped. If yes, save your ECL file and exit. Then open ECL file with a text editor, change all reference to AVI file to AVS file, also change frame count, etc, save changes and exit. OPen this new ECL with CCE, hopefully it will work.
