  2. First, please don't post the same question in multiple forums, it is considered VERY bad manners and upsets a lot of people.

Secondly, how can you expect anyone to tell you what an error message means without explaining what you were doing when it occurred, which application gave the error and how your mpg file you mentioned was created/obtained. Please give more detail.

  3. Sorry, I thought the two forum where I post this message were independant.
    Well, for my problem :
I recieve an SVCD. But when I open it, it doesn't work on py PC but it works on my standalone DVD.
What I wanted to do is to put that on a DVD, because the quality is very good. So I have take the mpg file from the SVCD to my hard drive and want to open it and edit it with M2-edit Pro. And here is the message it have :
''illegal System format (VCD) and video Format (MPEG-2) combination'
Can someone help me and tell me how to have a valid mpeg2 file '.

Each time I want to open it with any software, I have 'unsupported format' and when it opens, the time of the movie is 5:52 instead of 39:20

So I don't know what to do to repair this file and put it on a DVD.
I have try to create a DVD with Ulead Workshop, and I have onmly 5:52 minutes of video

    THanks to help me

  4. It looks like what you have is a SVCD format mpeg-2 file with VCD headers. You can fix this with the mpeg tools in Tmpgenc.

Start TmpGenc and select file->Mpeg tools. Go to the simple multiplex tab and open your mpeg file as the video input. It should automatically select it as audio input. Select an output file. Only AFTER doing this select 'MPEG-2 Super VideoCD (VBR)' from the drop down list at the top, and hit run.
