Avi to mpeg2

I was wondering if there was any program that could convert dvd-rips to mpeg2 layer to watchthem in a dvd player. I know they are progs that do it but im looking for one that can do it in like under 3 hours. I also tried aol but it didnt work.

DVD2SVCD you can get it from http://www.doom9.org look under 'the guides' and SVCD. You can d/load the newest verison 1.02build6 from http://dvd2svcd.doom9.net

From the http://www.doom9.org DVD2SVCD guide url you'll also need to d/load CCE 2.5sp. This is the demo verison, it'll put a watermark/logo in the bottom right of the encoded MPEG. I've heard that there's a crack for this

DVD2SVCD will do everything from rip the DVD to generating the image files to burn. CCE is much faster than TMPGenc. I have a Tbird 1.2Ghz each pass with CCE takes ~1x the movie run time. But I normally use multipass VBR=3.

So for with the right CPU and CBR you can do it in 3hrs, but for better quaility...
