Double sided yes, they are out there. Double layer, no and not likely to ever be.
Pioneer makes some but they are very expensive... I think a few of the ultra cheap manufactuers do also.

  3. Flame me if i'm wrong but i remember reading that dual layer disks are pressed on top of eachother and therefore will not be able to be burned by a conventional dvd writer. So not likely to be available ever unless writers are built for it.

You are correct about dual layer disk... he was asking about the double sided disk and they are out there, though I myself have not messed with them.

PrimeDisc makes 9.4Gb double-sideds, which you can currently get from www.shop4tech.com for $2.79 apiece.

I haven't used the double-sided ones, but I've used their single-sided discs with good results, so I have no reason to doubt that the double-sided ones would work just as well...

Speaking of Primedisc just got my first batch in... so far the only movie I burned was 4.1gb but so far they are doing great. I still suggest getting a test batch before jumping into a huge ammout though as I've not tested them completely yet.
