    I am familiar with installing codecs like Divx 5.02 because they come in packages


    But how would I install a codec like XDivx?

    I havent the slightest clue. If someone would assist this kind gentlemen I would greatly appreciate it. Also, whats a good codec to use for converting dvd rips to avis?

    To get all the codecs you will ever need install Nimo Codec Pack:

    http://www.btinternet.com/~nimosiro/

    Best codec for DVD to AVI is, in my opinion, DivX 5.02
