  1. Hi folks,

I have a set of DD trailers and similar .VOB files on my computer HD.
Is there a way to burn these into a CD so that my SHARP 740U DVD
player can play back with DD 5.1 digital out ?
I tried buring them as files on to a CD but the player wouldn't play it.
What do I need to do ?

    thx
    termy

If you had a DVD writer you could use this:

If you only have a cd writer you may not have enough space.

It is still possible to author DVD structures and burn them on a cd but the limit is about 12 to 15 minutes of video.
To gain more space (time) you would have to convert them to mpeg at a lower bitrate and reauthor them to vob. Don't know if it would be worth the effort.

Unless you convert them to mpeg and burn as (x)(s)vcd there's aren't too many other options.
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.

  4. thanks gll99. I will buy a DVD writer later. But for now I tried to burn the
VOBs into a CD by authoring them in the DVD structure as explained in
    the link. It worked !!
I had only a few trailers..so space wasn't an issue.

    thx

  5. I think you are in luck as your Sharp can handle MiniDVD.

That is the name when when your burn a CDR with DVD standard.

So use this guide below on how to burn VOB trailers.
You will only fit around 15-20minutes on a CDR.
