Locking Video stream to audio: Capture-->Settings: Lock video stream to audio.

Or in Main Program window: Options-->Sync to Audio.

And Mh2360: Here YOU go: Guide

I'm not sure why you want to convert to cbr mp3 and recombine. If you play the avi with something other than Virtualdub, the sound will be in synch. Virtualdub is generally used to convert or cut, rather than as a player.

If you intend to convert to another format, extract the audio as uncompressed wav. If you really do want to recombine the cbr mps with the video to produce a new avi then get hold of a copy of Nandub. This will allow you to interleave the mp3 and video (both direct stream copy). The option is generally used to create an avi with vbr audio, but will work just as well with cbr audio.

Bear in mind that to create a new avi with the same quality sound, the avi will be bigger!
