hello all.
by accident, I deleted several folders, and some had many files in it.
I was working on a database, when my system froze while hard-drive
light was on. I had no choise but to turn system off, since ctr-alt-del
was not available - if you know what I mean!!
Anyways, NOW, I need to find a way to "un-delete" what was deleted or
killed, due to my Windows 98's SCANDISK deleting them due to
an invalid LongFilename string fond in several folders.
I'm looking for a way to restore my deleted Folders as well as the
file that were in them. Other than my having to restore windows 98
partially, and rebooting my pc, I haven't really writen to THIS pc's disk,
so I'm hoping I have an opportunity to restore most if not all my folders
and files.
Does anyone have a suggestion???
Oh, and please, no shareware apps. I've done this once before,
(a long, long time ago) and the two that I did try limited me w/ a few files
to retstore and/or limited me to not being able to restore folders.
So, if anyone knows of a small app to run (pleaes, no big apps, as these
will most likely kill my opportunity to restore)
Hopefully, freeware, as this won't have a limits on what i can un-delete.
Please, no Norton. I have on my system, but dahha, it's one of the foders
that was damanged/deledted - and I don't have the rescue disk nor the CD
rom disk either. Thanks for the offer anyways, he, he...
Thank you all for any suggestions.

Since you aren't using WinMe or XP(system restore) those files are gone for good.Unless you use a programs "Recycle Bin Protection" you can't recover files,I use Norton Utilities to protect me from doing such a thing.

moviegeek,
tanx... I already knew they were gone for good, he, he...
I was just hoping - this happened to me once before.
Nothing was serious, as I do have backups and all, but I was just working
on some database changes, and I just didn't want to have to re-create
some of the source code I was debugging from yesterday and beyond, as
those I haven't backed up - I don't normally do the "particular" work in
THAT db. anyways,
I've recovered the folders (more like replaced them) w/ my backup.
Backing up doesn't always work (in this case it wasn't imporant)
So... fa-get-about-it.
