  1. What exactly is XVCD?

    Is this the output when you convert from .d2v to .mpeg1 using tmpgenc?

  2. XVCD is an extended version of VCD using MPEG-1. With XVCD you are able to increase bitrate and resolution for higher quality or lower bitrate and resolution to fit on one cd

  3. Although we call it eXended VCD, in reality, it is just an off-spec or non-compliant VCD. When you make a video disc that is based on the VCD specifications but go beyond the normal limits (hopefully for a reason), you are making an XVCD.
