  1. 1 out of every 4-5 burns results in the svcd not playing the last 10-15 minutes without a major freezeup, and severe and jerky motion, if any

I am usinga Verbatim 32x Datalife Plus 80min cdrs, and am only able to play all the way through, about 35 of the 50 in the spindle. If I reburn the disc that doesn't completely play through, burning another disc usually does the trick. Usually Normally, if the disc doesn't playback properly in my WINDVD4, if I then open the mpeg2 folder and play aveq01.mpg, then it will play, but the time elapsed is off. But this time, for some reason, when I tried this, the program froze like it does when I try to play normally. Even after a clean reboot.

Why can't I play a svcd beyond acertain point? Is it my players? The software? It is very annoying having to constantly reburn since I am burning at 2x speed and it takes 40-45 minutes to burn. I am using vcdeasy. I am using Philips CDRW burner. SHould I use Philips cdrs then? But I have read they are of low quality.

  2. if you're burning with a 2x cd burner, then its probably a pretty old burner.. and its probably just giving you bad burns.. save your self the time & hassle.. go out and buy a new cd burner.. stop being a cheapass.
