For about a year now, I have had an ASUS V7700-Deluxe video card with video-in. I have had mixed success with it. For short clips (less than 30 minutes) it is OK. But once you cap over 30 minutes, the audio goes out of sync.

Earlier this week I purchased a Winnov Videum-AV capture card.
It is great, 640x480 caps, 75 minutes long, 2 frames droppped and audio perfectly in sync.

The capture software it comes with is a little clunky, the audio does not work, unless you plug your speakers into their board. If you want to watch the preview pane while vid capping, you drop frames big time. You have to record blind and depend on their timer to stop the recording.

BUT, when I capped with MGI's VideoWave5, I got a sharp clear cap. Plus I could watch the preview pane and with the speakers plugged into the card, sounded great.

I will do some tests with Virtual Dub. I have never capped with VirtualDub, so I must read up about it so I get a good test.
