  1. Hi there

I am using a DataVideo VDR-3000 to burn onto a standard CD-R in VCD format. I can play back the files on the recorder, but when I try and open them on my PC, it does not recognise the disc and treats it as blank. THe info on the DataVideo website (datavideo-tek.com) states that the discs should run automatically.

    I have a P4 1.8GHz running Windows XP with a Toshiba DVD/CD-RW drive.

    Hope someone can help!

  3. Hi,

I am troubled by the same situation. Files created by VDR-3000 are not recognized by my software (Video de Luxe by Magix). As far as VCD is concerned, I solved this problem with the freeware "MPEGTool". With the help of this programm you can transform the character of a file from *.dat in *.mpg. After this procedures you shouldŽnt have any problems with handling your VDR-3000 created file.

I wasŽnt able to change the codec of SVCD files or cdDVD files created by the VDR-3000. TMPGEnc, for example, failed to recognize the SVCD or cdDVD format created by VDR-3000. Suggestions are appreciated very much. Best regards, Fritz
