Hi. I am unsatisfied with my ATI All-In-Wonder 128 direct capturing
into mpeg2 with ATI MMC. The result colors are far from original (too
bright) and cannot be set up correctly. Also Mpeg1 is nothing much - I
would describe it as seemingly good picture with "flickering
horizontal noise". Does exist some other program which can capture
direcly to mpeg2 ? Virtual dub with codec ? (what codec? , not
interested in DivX...). Or some other application ? Some comfort would
be welcomed (scheduling, shutting off PC, SVCD format compatibility, good speed,... ) . Thanks for any advice.

I use Ulead Video Studio 6 to capture. With TMPGEnc, it does the trick for me.
Hello. -
I don't know of any freeware programs.
Intervideo's Windvr and Cyberlinks Powervcr II will capture mpeg1 and mpeg2. Demo's are available on their respective sites. There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.
