i exported an uncompressed avi file from the premiere6 timeline. it was 23gb in size. when i was done encoding it with mpeg2 i deleted the 23gb file. problem is, its still showing up on my hard drive. the file is gone but ive got 23 gb of wasted space on my drive i cant figure out how to get rid of. ive heard this has happened before with win xp & ntfs. how do i fix it? by the way, im not a rookie, have been using premiere, converting, capturing for a long time and never had a problem. i hit all the forums, buy the books, suscribe to magazines, try to stay on top. this is the darndest thing ive ever encountered. help![]()

i made two batch files i leave on my desk top
to delete run this :
REGSVR32 /U SHMEDIA.DLL
when finished (so that properties return) run this as a batch file:
REGSVR32 SHMEDIA.DLL
if you start to try to del a avi and you forgot to run the batch file above first run this from the run line or a cmd window:
kill -f SHMEDIA
or killl explorer from the task manager and restart it from taskmanager again .. -
not yet, but i will! dont know how in the heck i missed it, ive searched the site over! thanks dude, ill let you know if it works
