    but only disscussed with DVD2SVCD.....which i dont use because i dont like it

    what i am after is the subtitles from the parts of the movie that speak egyptian.
    i used smartripper to rip from MY OWN DVD, dvd2avi to make d2v file, and avisynth to frameserve to CCE 2.5

    i do it that way because i like to know where i am gunna split the movie, not just in the middle of a scene.

    well i have encoded the movie already and i noticed that thoese subtitles are missing.... how do i add them now???
    Ohhh..... i burn with VCDEasy

  2. well...i ripped the mummy 1 region 1 dvd and it seems the subtitles were hardcoded onto the video itself, it wasn't in a separate subtitle stream...so there shouldn't be a problem...

    referring to the post you linked to, i took a look at my rip of rush hour 2..and the subs also seem to be hardcoded in that one....(i.e. part of the video itself)...so i have no idea what's going on....i ripped region 1 version.

    however, if you want to add subs that aren't hardcoded, you're gonna have to redo your rip.

    using vobsub/vdub or flaskmpeg

    There should be a way of "muxing" subs without re-encoding but
    I'm not aware of any - AFAIK you are going to have start from
    scratch (at least for the video stream) If you were working
    from Vob's it would be different, but straight mpeg-2? - sorry
