First of all thanks for taking the time to read.....

When I try to convert a 23.976fps Divx file to MPEG-2 23.976fps SVCD NTSCFilm file using TMPGEnc it wants to use something called "Inverse Telecine" what is this.. is it necessary? And TMPGEnc seems to do it with every 23.976 Divx file (I have tested this with several different Divx files).. also when trying to save the audio from a Divx file to a .wav file (in preparation for encodeing) using Virtual Dub I receive an error message and Virtual Dub will not open the file... then I tried using avi2wav no prob opening the file... but I cannot find an option to change the Sampling Rate to 44100Hz... most of the divx files have a diffrent Sampling Rate than 44100Hz making it impossible to encode the file

Thanks for any help you can offer

If someone could answer this question it would be greatly appreciated.. I cannot finish encoding this movie until I understand if I need to use Inverse Telecine or not… thank you for your time

first of all, be patient and give people time to respond.
which template are you loading in TMPG?
you need to load the NTSCfilm template, and that will have this option selected:
Encode Mode: 3:2 pulldown when playback
I don't believe you want the inverse telecine selected
what are you askin' me for...
    I'm an idiot!

First off thanks for responding.. I didn’t mean to be impatient but this is one of my first posts in this forum and I didn’t know the average response time to new posts.. next time I will try to be more patient.. Also I was using the NTSCFilm template but TMPGEnc already has Inverse Telecine selected… why would it do this when 3:2 pulldown is the proper setting? What does 3:2 pulldown do and why is it necessary? Thanks for the help
