  1. Why is TMPGEnc listed as freeware in the tools section? It looks like it costs $48 if you want to encode mpeg-2 files for more than 30 day. Sounds more like shareware. Is there a real freeware program that does the same thing and outputs to mpeg-2?

    BBMPEG, but hardly anyone I know uses it to encode..... Too slow.

    You should probably send an e-mail to Baldrick.

    TMPGEnc is remembered loving by us all to when it used to be freeware... (beta12a).

    Tmpgenc is freeware if you use it for mpeg1. Tmpgenc plus is the "real" shareware version.
