ok mate first step, use dvd decrypter this will decript the copy write if the dvd and store it on your hard drive.

Next step use dvdx go 2 open ifo and open the movie that says example spiderman ifo double click on it and then go 2 input setting in the bottom right set pfu best qaulity and sound normal.

then go output setting here is were you can make your movie smaller, as you no a disk can hold 700 mb (mega bights) so if you want a vcd movie on 1 disk it has to be lower than that, so you will have to compress the movie, in other word lower the sound qaulity and frame rate, as you do this you will see that the estimated size will decrease in size so if you want 1 disk narrow it down 2 700mb if you want 2 disk 1400mb.

If i was you mate i would only change dvd 2 svcd it is as close as you can get 2 dvd, vcd is bad qaulity as far as i am concerned.

you have a choice compress in vcd format and your movie will be 6 out of 10 compared to dvd. (1disk)

or be a winner and sencerbul, and compress the movie 2 fit on 2 cd,s and have 9 out of 10 qaulity compared 2 dvd.

hope this as been some help.

if you need any more info you can add me 2 msn budies and i will talk to you on there planethulahoop@hotmail.com

or compress a movie on 2 disks

  3. there is a program (link on this site) for a program called DVD2VCD (do a search, but I think it is on the main vcdhelp.com page). It takes most of the work out of converting DVD to VCD. If your DVD player can support it, you might want to take a crack at DVD2SVCD. There are guides to each of these programs that are WELL written and will really help you.

If you want just some stand alones, I use to use CladDVD for XP 1.3 to rip the DVD and then extract the audio, then I used TMPGENC to encode the movie to VCD (or CVD), but with DVD2SVCD, there is NO need for me to do that anymore.

More suggestions: DVDx! From DVD to VCD compliant MPEG with just a few clicks. Recommend versions below 2.0 tho...
