Used Primo to back up Hotshots GOlf3. The DVD game is a tad below 2gig. I went to full application and did the build the global image thing. Then i burnt it to a Memorex dvd-r. When i went to boot the copied game in my PS2 it went to the PS2 logo screen but then goes to the memory card screen. I also tried Stomp and did a disc copy method which resulted in the same result as the first one. Im using the Pioneer 104 with the px engine and 1.32 firmware upgrades. Is it the media that is causing the problem? I didnt get any errors when reading and recording.

  2. i assume you have a modchip installed in your PS2 ?. otherwise you won't be able to boot it.

Have a look at www.ps2ownz.com as they have loads of guides on backing up PS2 games.

Yes i got a magic2. My PS2 will play all except a DVD movie and a DVD-R backup. It will play a DVD-rom game. So not sure if its the media. Im gonna try a different brand to see.

WooooHooooo! I got my REAL(f**k them clones) red Magic 2 installed today!
I love this dayum chip, it plays everything!!

Anyways, i just did a back up of Tekken 4 using RecordNow MAX and mine came out working great. I always use Apple DVD-R's.

Okay, i assume that the game you're backing up is a DVD-Rom and not a CD-Rom? Well either way, put the game into your DVD-Rom/DVD-Burner and open RecordNow MAX. Leave all the settings at default, and don't use the wizard. Go to where it says build global image and choose where you're going to save the GI file on your hard drive. Now let the drive read the game at your drives lowest speed(1x?) This is just for your benefit. It will take longer but the odds of you making coasters in the end will be less. After it's done, then put your DVD-R in and burn the GI file you just saved to your hard drive.(preferably at 1x also)

Anyways, yea, it's as simple as that!
