Hey there I have a problem involving SVCD chapters. Since finding out that you can use chapers on SVCDs I have been going through all of my movies that I have burned and reburning them with the original chapter points from the DVD. I read through a few guides and then decided on using VCDEasy, it looked simple and fast. I followed the guide to the letter and when I played the disc with WinDVD the chapters worked brilliantly. However when I stuck it in my DVD Player (Palsonic DVD-4000)
it played fine but I couldn't skip ahead chapters, when I tried to it just ended the movie. I checked the DVD compatabiltiy list for my player but I found no info, I have played a SVCD with multiple audio tracks and also subtitles so I figured that it wouldn't have any trouble with chapters. I will give the disc to a mate to try in his player but in the meantime does anyone know where I can download a working, tested SVCD sample that I can try in my player. Any other help or comments would be appreciated. Cheers.

  2. I think it has something to do with enabling/disabling "Playback Control" in VCDEasy or on your dvd player. Try that.

  4. I was under the impression that svcd couldnt have chapters as in DVd?
how does one do this with say Nero or is vcd easy better??
Can you set up your own chapters with animated menus and such like?
Eg Different to the ones on the DVD?

VCDEasy is the probably the simplest way of making VCD or SVCDs with chapter, however if you want to add some nice menus and stuff aswell as the chapters use a program called TSCV. With TSCV its possible to recreate the complete DVD menu structure and setup whatever chapter entrypoints you like. Check out Sefy Levy's complete DVD backup guide and skip to the authoring part.

These guides make it really simple.
