When I'm coding in DVD (MPEG-2) format I can choose in TMPGEnc and CCE under Quantize Matrix tab Standard Matrix or MPEG Standard Matrix. My DVD plays whatever I choose and I don't see the difference in quality of picture.
Is there any difference in quality of picture (blockiness, etc.) between these two settings?
    Thanks...

  2. The Matrix will only have a noticable effect under very low bit rates and high video motion. Even then, it might be hard to see unless you know what to look for. The matrix settings changes the compression, however it is often subjective and dependent on the type of video.

If I remember the guieds correctly, they suggest you use the MPEG setting for DVD video.

    Anyone?
