Make sure that u have line in selected as your recording deveice (go to the little speaker by the clock, and select recording controls then select it). Also make sure you have your audio bitrate set at at least 172 kbs. Just make sure that the audio bit rate isnt on the lowest setting.

Looks like this is a problem with a lot of cards, Mine works fine with other software but no settings make the sound work in Vdub

I tried almost all the tricks but I still get no sound. I can here audio from while capturing but VDub would not capture it. Does it work with a particular sound card?

Well I dont even hear the sound, so you must be almost there. Have you tried the diffrent sound compression's, the only one I can get to work is the PCM (In my tv card) Nothing in Vdub.
I have a sound blaster live, they dont come any better... -
I have the same problem and am using Analog input, not S-VIDEO, I also hear the sound with before i press "Capture" on the Vdub settings and yes i did select the Line in recording option and its at max, and I use SB PC128 Card and its regular mixer, on win2000 pro, AIW Radeon card
One for all, all for one. -

My this can Help:
I have a 3DFX 200 Capt board and I have a VCR connected to Video input of capt card and the audio are connected to the line-in on audio board ( SB live). I get audio without problems using this way.
The only issue that I have is when I switch the RF input because probably the audio from RF is fllowing internally by auxiliar intup ( on capt card) and My be VirtualDUB don,t recognize other audio way, only line-in on audio card.
I`m still looking for a glue about how to do RF connection get audio.
If some one know is a good trick. -
Hi
I think most if not all of use that use tv cards have the audio via the line in, when using RF. Most tv cards have a audio out which goes to line in on the sound card.
If you have a problem, why not feed the audio out from capture card to the line in if this is AUX then AUX to line in -
I've been making (s)vcd's for months now. All of a sudden I'm experiencing the same problem. I can hear the audio when capturing, but it is not captured. In my case, it works the same way in both Virtualdub and AVI_IO. What the heck? Does anyone have any more ideas?
Thanks!

I have exactly the same problem. My TV Card: Pinnacle PCTV Pro. Soundcard: Soundblaster Live Platinum.
I have the line out from my tv card connected to AUX. My line in dosn't work (that's something wrong with my soundcard). I can here the sound very low and in mono, before capturing. But no sound are captured...
Do anyone know a solution for this problem?
